EDUCATING / HEALING THE CHILD
Divorce
Divorce for children is often traumatic and filled with confusion, guilt and feelings of loss of the family dynamic. The workshop facilitates the healing and reintegration into the different familial environments that the child is faced with. Themes addressed include:
- Identification and healing of the unconscious patterns and coping mechanism for the child which may be different from what is outwardly expressed or displayed. Healing of the themes of guilt, anger, confusion, regret, denial etc. that may occur.
- Coming to terms with and managing the different parenting styles at both parents new home environment.
- Adult / child role reversal: teaching the child skills of how to step out of mediator / ‘referee’ roles between parents as well as adopting the ‘mother’ or ‘father’ role for siblings.
- Reinstating new paradigms and patterns of the balance of the mother / father / child within: A child will often adopt via unconscious imprinting, the relationship patterns displayed by parents which are often repeated in later life in their own lives.
- Facilitating and healing the grieving process and phases. Children may undergo similar phases of grieving as when someone has died. The loss of the core family unit may initially be experienced through denial, shock which is followed by anger, depression, anxiety etc. until the phase of acceptance and resolution may occur.
- Effective study and concentration applications are installed so that the child may extend his / her self into the school setting without distraction or compromise.
PRE-DIVORCE THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION
By identifying and reprocessing the underlying, unconscious emotional patterns and belief systems of each individual, a deeper understanding of the dynamics and needs of each person is enhanced and clarified relative to the relationship itself.
Each individual in a relationship has a different set of needs, values and communication patterns that are pertinent and developed in early childhood according to the familial environment that they are exposed to. Unresolved themes such as anger, unmet needs and resentments in the early family dynamic are often in turn repeated and projected into the marital setting or partnership.
By desensitizing and releasing the emotional charge on these early dynamics as well as reprocessing each individual towards balance and empowerment, constructive change in the relationship itself is fostered. Adults that are whole and balanced are ideal role models that children require to achieve their true potential.
POST DIVORCE THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION
Divorce can be a traumatic experience for both parties in that the redefining of the self needs to occur relative to the loss of the familial structure that was seemingly provided by the relationship. Themes that are addressed include:
- Redefining and rebuilding of the relationship with self .
- Anger management/ feelings of revenge , regret etc.
- Identification of the missing information on a deeper unconscious level so that the same pattern or relationship dynamic does not repeat in the future.
- Forgiveness as a theme so that forward movement is fostered on all levels.
- Self empowerment; reinstating of a sense of self worth and self confidence.
- Reinstating the belief in love as a principle without fear so as to embrace a positive and empowered future.
- Adult / child role reversal: constructive skills to facilitate the negotiation and management of the custody of the children towards the best interests of the child. Ensuring that anger and needs of the parent are not projected onto the child via self awareness and responsibility towards inner wholeness and accountability.
